In today’s world blogging has become the new way of communication. As the blogging world continues to grow it will be very beneficial to many people. Blogging can be a great way for teachers to communicate with one another, their students, and parents. Teachers can post important dates, news, and other information for everyone to see. Parents need a better way of communication with their child’s teacher. Possibly with blogs parents will be more involved and up to date on what’s going on with their children. Also, blogging can be a way to have the parents more involved with the school and community. Blogging can provide a way for parents to meet other parents. Blogging is a simple way to communicate with one another at your convenience.
Blogging can provide many benefits for students. For example blogging can help improve reading and writing skills. For me, blogging provides time for me to think about what I want to say. Since I’m not so good with on the spot answers. My opinion is that students can be more open on a blog. They will not be afraid to say what they feel is right. Blogging is all over the world, so when students get comfortable with blogs they will meet people from all over the world. Blogging can be a learning experience for many people. It is a great learning experience for me so far.
I think that parents could benefit the most from a teacher's blog. It is necessary for parents and teachers to keep the lines of communication open and blogging can do just that.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a great way to stay in touch with the class and the world. It is another line of communication between the teacher and parents. Everyone benefits from it except those who still don't have a computer, but they can still blog at school so they aren't left out.
ReplyDeleteYou made a great point when you said teachers could also communicate with the parents on a blog. I didn't even think about that. That would be a great way to schedule meetings for the parents to better the education for the students. Good idea! This could keep the parents in line with what the teachers are doing on a day to day basis.
ReplyDeleteBlogging is a simple way of communication. I think over the next few months/ years the community of blogging will be a great advantage for everyone. Thanks for your responses!
ReplyDeleteYou made a very good point when you mentioned teacher parent communication. I mainly concentrated on teacher student, I didn't even think to include the parent.
ReplyDeleteThe concept of being able to think more about what I’m going to say before I convey it to students is a very appealing idea to me. I sometimes find myself in situations where I want someone to understand something so badly that me over-explaining it confuses them. On a blog I’d be able to narrow down what I want to say into clearer pieces.
ReplyDeleteI agree that parents would benefit greatly out of blogging. They would be able to ask questions and talk to the teacher directly. This would provide a great link between parent and teacher.
ReplyDeleteOne of the most important factors about blogging is that you have time to think about what you would like to say. Especially for me since I'm not good at coming up with answers right on the spot. Christine, I feel the same way. I have what I want to say but most of the time I just confuse the person I'm trying to explain it too. So blogging is more relaxed and does not stress me out. I have time to gather my thoughts. Most people look at blogging as just student and teacher but parents can benefit with blogs also.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, teachers and parents could benefit from this as well. I mainly focused on the students, but parents can keep up to date on what is going on in the classroom if the teacher keeps a blog. Teacher to teacher communication could also improve, which is something I hadn't thought of.
